This unique building was built in the early 1900’s for the Free Church of Scotland and used as a church until the 1950s. It was subsequently used for a variety of purposes and had fallen into disrepair when it was taken over in 2005. Four years were spent converting the old church into a beautiful and unique dwelling. The project was featured on Channel 5’s ‘Build A New Life In The Country’ series. As part of the renovation a completely self-contained self catering apartment, in what was the old vestry, was created.
The building is furnished unusually in art deco style to match the main house and features underfloor heating. In the Old Vestry there is a double bedroom that sleeps 2, plus a sofa bed in the living room, which sleeps 2 more if required. The Main Church has 3 bedrooms, 1 en-suite, with a sofa bed in the down stairs lounge, a cot in the master bedroom and extra single bed in the up stairs lounge. There is a Freesat TV, Now TV, Netflix and CD/DVD player. We also offer our guests a free wi-fi connection and are in one of the very few spots on the island with mobile phone reception!
